Hostinger AI Builder SEO for ChatGPT, Perplexity & AI search

Built your site with Hostinger AI Builder? Here is what Hostinger AI Builder's own documentation says about how AI crawlers see it, and the exact settings for robots.txt, llms.txt, structured data and your sitemap. Sources are listed at the bottom.

How Hostinger AI Builder delivers pages to crawlers

Rendering
Server-rendered for sites created on or after Sept 21, 2026
Depends on your project

Hostinger's help center says new AI Builder websites created on or after September 21, 2026 use server-side rendering, so search engines get the full page content right away. It doesn't say how older sites are rendered, and Hostinger's product page describes sites as ready for search engines that support JavaScript-rendered content. If your site is older, run RankRoot's audit: it fetches the page without running JavaScript, like most AI crawlers.

Why it matters: many AI crawlers don't run JavaScript. If your text only appears after scripts run, they may see an empty page.

Make your content readable without JavaScript

  1. Connect a custom domain. Hostinger says the sitemap and robots.txt are generated for websites with a custom domain after publishing.
  2. Check that important pages aren't hidden: the Hide page from search results option in a page's SEO settings adds a noindex tag.
  3. Optional: Web2Agent, an experimental Hostinger feature for manual mode and WordPress, gives your site an MCP endpoint that AI tools such as Claude can connect to. Turn it on in the site's general settings.
  4. Run the free audit on your live URL to confirm what crawlers get.

robots.txt: let AI search crawlers in

  1. Hostinger generates robots.txt automatically for sites on a custom domain. Its help center doesn't describe a way to edit it.
  2. Open yourdomain.com/robots.txt and check that OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot aren't disallowed. The AI crawler checker tests each bot against your live site.
  3. To keep one page out of search, use the page's Hide page from search results option (a noindex tag) rather than robots.txt.
  4. If you need different crawler rules than the generated file, ask Hostinger support. We couldn't find a documented setting for it.

Add llms.txt

  1. Manual mode: open Website settings > General settings, turn on Enable LLMs.txt under Web2Agent settings, then publish. Hostinger creates the file at yourdomain.com/llms.txt.
  2. Agentic mode: Hostinger says it generates and manages llms.txt for your domain every time you publish. There's nothing to turn on.
  3. Hostinger says the file includes only links and descriptions from your website, so good page titles and meta descriptions make a better llms.txt.
  4. Check the live file with the llms.txt validator. Turning the toggle off removes the file.

Add JSON-LD and head code

  1. Manual mode: expand Pages and navigation, open a page's settings and choose SEO settings to set its meta title, description, URL and keywords. The AI SEO Assistant there can draft the title and description for you to review.
  2. Agentic mode: there's no settings form. Ask the AI directly, for example "update meta title 'Your brand: what you do'".
  3. Custom code (manual mode): More (⋯) > Integrations > Custom code. Hostinger places <meta>, <link> and <style> tags in <head>, and <script>, <noscript> and <iframe> tags at the end of <body>. Add data-render-head to a <script> tag that must load in <head>.
  4. Custom code only shows in preview and on the live site, not in the editor. Update the site to publish it.
Example: Organization JSON-LD for Custom code (data-render-head puts it in <head>)
<script type="application/ld+json" data-render-head>
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "Organization",
  "name": "Your brand",
  "url": "https://yourdomain.com/",
  "description": "One sentence on what you do and who it's for."
}
</script>

Sitemap

  1. Hostinger AI Builder creates and updates sitemap.xml automatically at yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml. For new server-rendered sites it includes dynamic pages such as product and blog pages.
  2. Submit it in Google Search Console under Sitemaps. Include www in the URL only if the WWW prefix is turned on in your site's general settings.

FAQ

Does Hostinger AI Builder support llms.txt?

Yes. In manual mode, turn on Enable LLMs.txt in Website settings > General settings > Web2Agent settings and publish. In agentic mode Hostinger generates llms.txt automatically on every publish.

Can I edit robots.txt in Hostinger AI Builder?

Hostinger's help center says robots.txt is generated automatically for sites with a custom domain, and doesn't describe a way to edit it. To hide one page from search, use its Hide page from search results setting.

Is my Hostinger AI Builder site visible to ChatGPT?

Sites created on or after September 21, 2026 are server-rendered, so content is in the HTML. Check that robots.txt allows OAI-SearchBot and run the free audit, especially for older sites.

Where is the Hostinger AI Builder sitemap?

At yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml. Hostinger creates and updates it automatically; submit it in Google Search Console.
